So yeah...Warped Tour.
The first band I saw was Motion City Soundtrack, which was rad, since I missed them when they played early in the morning last year. They were great- it seriously sounded like they were playing the CD. Usually I like it for bands to be a bit more spontaneous in their performances, but their songs are already so good that I would've been bummed if they sucked live. They also did a bunch of stuff from the first CD, and ended with "The Future Freaks Me Out". A good start...
...and then not. I went to see My Chemical Romance. O.o I need to make a note never to see a main stage band again. I got the crap kicked out of me, and had a bunch of crowdsurfers dropped on my head (only Alkaline Trio can get away with that). About half of the people around me ended up crying and jumping over the metal barrier at some point in time just because of the heat and the 483537845 million people on top of us. I guess I didn't enjoy MCR as much as I could have since I had such high expectations, since I'm always hearing about how good they are. *shrugs* At least I got their setlist.
Then I went to see Big D and The Kid's Table, since I'm always hearing so much about *them* too. I wasn't as disappointed, since they played rad ska to the infinity. Like, wow. I went in the middle and skanked and everything, and had an insane amount of fun. I got really tired and thristy around when they did their cover of The Specials "Little Bitch", so I ducked out and chilled the rest of the time.
I was in a ska sort of mood, so the last two bands I saw were High School Football Heroes and The Fenwicks. They were both really, very much great, and I highly suggest you check both of them out. I jumped in the circle again, and looked like an idiot, and generally had a lot of fun.
Lesson- Main stage= ass, and ska is about the only thing that sounds good during the Warped Tour. Also, Atreyu is a very stupid band, if only for doing a Bon Jovi cover. Bleh.
My tan has also gotten about ten times more farmery. Meh.
